Wendy Carrillo’s campaign for Assembly District 51 announced today that the California Professional Firefighters have endorsed Carrillo’s candidacy for State Assembly.
Lou Paulson, President of the California Professional Firefighters said: “We are supporting Wendy Carrillo for Assembly. We know we can count on Wendy to fight for our first responders, ensuring that we have the training and equipment we need to keep our communities safe.”
With a membership of more than 30,000, CPF is the largest statewide organization dedicated exclusively to advocating for California’s first responders and ensuring they have the tools they need to keep California’s families, children and neighborhoods safe. CPF is the officially chartered state council for the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF), which represents more than 298,000 front line firefighters across the United States.
“I am honored to receive the support of the California Professional Firefighters,” said Carrillo. “As we witnessed recently with the wildfires that have impacted so much of our state, CPF’s first responders work tirelessly and selflessly to protect our families and homes. As a legislator, I will fight to ensure our first responders have a strong advocate in Sacramento and will continue fighting to ensure all Californians have a safe place to live, work and play.”
Carrillo’s campaign has witnessed a surge of momentum in recent weeks. After placing first in the October 3rd Special Primary Election, Carrillo has earned a wave of endorsements including the California Democratic Party, the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor, Congressman Jimmy Gomez and State Senate President pro Tem Kevin de León.
The General Election for AD 51 will be held on December 5, 2017.
